REVIEWS
5-star rating!!! I constantly find myself on the look out for a good historical romance. One that will keep me entertained while not being the same old perfect miss that is the toast of the ton and blah, blah, blah. Belong to Me fits the bill perfectly; it is a deliciously different story that still gives me my historical fix. The blending of romance, sexual tension, and suspense makes this story a page-turner. I was captivated from page one. I must have conflict in my historical, and Ms. Campbell is a true queen of this; she appeased my need wonderfully. Charlotte is a wonderfully written character; she is caught between a rock and a hard place and comes out fighting. I found myself on numerous occasions wanting to give her a high five. Her doubts and inner feelings lend an air of reality to the character. I especially enjoyed her interaction with Lord Thatcher. The many twists and turns in this story make it especially gratifying. I am already a fan of Ms. Campbell; I believe she has outdone herself with Belong to Me. ~~ Teagan / Book Wenches
Belong to Me is another favorite as Campbell takes on a journey of a confused and hurt heroine, Charlotte to try to divorce her husband. Little does she know she still has a spark for the man who saved her, but also stole away her heart. Will she stay with him due to what she felt that night when she seduced him or will she take her divorce and be on her way? I won’t tell.. you will have to pick all of these to find out. Campbell has a way to telling a story that wraps you around completely to her characters and makes you invest and root for their futures. Campbell also teaches us that in love, anything is possible and it’s worth the risk. Campbell proves time and time again that the pen is mightier than the sword. ~~ The Pen & Muse
Let me start by saying that once I started I couldn’t put it down. The plot was interesting and kept me reading. The hero and heroine were enjoyable. Ms Campbell does a great job keeping readers engaged even if there are a few snags. The mystery was interesting and woven very well through the entire story. Secondary characters were well written and helped keep the story moving. This is not the first, nor will it be the last of Ms Campbell’s work that I pick up and read. 7 out of 10 pts. ~~Seriously Reviewed

5-Roses!! I really enjoyed the pace of this book, it flowed really fast with no wasted details. There is a really good plot in the story as well. The touches of humor easily raise a smile and the passion is deep as her characters are passionate creatures who are attracted to each other in spite of themselves. This is the kind of story to read curled up in a comfy chair and a couple of hours to spare as you won’t want to put it down. Full marks to Phyllis Campbell for a very entertaining read and some very memorable characters. ~Mary / A Romance Review
5-Stars!! Ms. Campbell does not disappoint the reader in her story Charlotte and Neil. Added to the mixture are Charlotte’s mixed feelings for Lord Adam, and the plot thickens. Keeping up a high intensity of sexual tension, the reader will be sitting on the edge of her seat, wondering which of these two men Charlotte will finally choose. The added mystery, with a perfectly horrid villain, gives the story a very good plot and plenty of extra action. The reader is brought back in time, as the historical setting is realistic and well written without too many frills or over-explanations. Ms. Campbell has written an historical worthy of any well-known mainstream author, and has proven that this genre suits her very well. After a long time of not reading in this genre, this reviewer was happy to discover an author like Ms. Campbell in the e-book industry. Her writing career merits close watching as this reviewer foresees more to come from this very talented author. ~Val, Love Romances
5-Stars!! My Heart Belongs To You is a delightful romance with well-done mystery interwoven amidst the love story. Phyllis Campbell’s criminals add a brilliant blend of the sinister and comical in their actions. There are just enough twists and turns in solving the crime that the reader will continue to be surprised. This is a fun read that anyone who enjoys a good historical romance will want in their collection. ~Gina, Love Romances

“You’re certainly a temptress, luring to your side every man here.”
“And what of you, kind sir? Are you aware of how devastatingly handsome and mysterious you are?”
“No, my attention has been focused on one woman in particular, and I’m dancing with her now.”
She tilted her head, keeping her gaze on him. “Are you always this forward?”
“Oui.” He chuckled. “Are you?”
“It’s for you to find out.”
His dark eyebrows lifted. “Am I to believe you are this way because you’re tempted to taste the forbidden fruit?”
His charm hypnotized all of her senses, weakening her limbs. To keep from falling under his spell, she changed the subject. “What is your costume, kind sir?”
“What do you want me to be, Chère?”
Her heart knocked against her ribs. “That’s not a fair answer to my question.”
“The truth is, my She-Devil,” he replied, huskiness filling his voice as his fingers stroked her hand, “this costume was a last minute decision. So please, tell me what you think I might be, and it shall be so.”
She looked away from the shadow of his eyes peering through the mask, and scanned his body. Perfectly he fit in his dark and mystifying attire, so flawless it made her heart skip a beat. Too bad he didn’t want her as a wife two years ago. Perhaps she wouldn’t have thought she had wasted the last twenty-four months of her life.
“I don’t rightly know.” She shrugged. “Are you a night rider?”
“I have a better idea. Since you are the Devil, I shall be Hell.”
Lost in a dream, she gazed into his masked face. “If you are Hell, then I’d gladly become wicked just to be with you.”
He tightened his hold on her, and her breasts brushed his chest. They danced entirely too close, but she didn’t protest. It was as if a warm blanket of comfort had wrapped around her. All humor disappeared as desire crept into her body, weakening her limbs. The foreign flutter in her chest excited her. Silently, she cursed her body’s weakness. This was not the way she wanted to react. She had to be in control—not him.
“Mademoiselle She-Devil? May I ask you a personal question?”
“What is that?”
“Are you by chance taken?”

Afraid to make a sound, she held her breath. Should she lie to him? Yet it was too soon to tell him the truth. With a firm decision, she buried her secret deep inside her, and would not give a hint to her true self. “No, I’m not taken.”
The music came to an end and she leaned into him, not wanting to leave his arms. Warm, peppermint breath breezed across her cheek and tickled her.
“I’d like it very much if you belonged to me tonight.” His words came out as a request, but his tone held more of a command.
Charlotte’s heart soared. Never in her life had a man’s voice or touch affected her like this, and although it scared her, the new sensation stirred something from within. She wanted more—wanted him to feel the same urgency flowing through her right now. The three days after she’d married him, her body had never reacted with such a need like it was doing now.
“I think, sir, you are indeed the devil and not I, for your words are tempting me far greater than I expected.”
His face moved forward and she thought he meant to place a kiss on her cheek, which she’d gladly accept. Instead, his lips brushed her earlobe, sending chills down her spine.
“I’ll show you sin if you’ll let me,” he whispered in her ear. “Give me the word, Chère, and I’ll take you to a most pleasurable place.”
